BOQ Review
An independent, document-based review of a Bill of Quantities (BOQ) — read closely for scope gaps, exclusions, allowances, duplications, unclear descriptions and commercial exposure before you price, submit or award. Not legal, engineering, or certified quantity advice.
A BOQ carries the commercial risk of the whole package
Whether you are a client team, a main contractor or a project manager, the Bill of Quantities is where scope, pricing logic and commercial exposure meet. A BOQ review — sometimes searched for as BOQ checking or a Bill of Quantities review — is a structured read of the submitted BOQ and its supporting documents to surface the items most likely to need clarification before commitment.
Where BOQ risk usually sits
Items the drawings or specification imply but the BOQ appears to omit — flagged for confirmation, never assumed as zero.
Qualifications, exclusions and assumptions that shift risk or narrow the priced scope.
Provisional sums, prime cost items and allowances that can move the final commercial picture.
The same scope appearing under more than one item, trade or section.
Item descriptions that are ambiguous, composite, or open to more than one commercial reading.
Rates, quantities and amounts that do not reconcile internally or with the stated basis.
BOQ Review vs BOQ Quantity Supportability
Is the BOQ document clear, internally consistent and commercially understandable? A structured read of the bill and its supporting documents for scope gaps, exclusions and commercial exposure.
Can the stated quantities be supported by the available drawings and other source evidence? An independent drawing-to-BOQ measurement and evidence-lineage review. Reported quantities are decision-support findings, not certification.
What you receive
A BOQ review summary; a scope-gap and exclusions note; unclear-description and duplication flags; a clarification schedule of questions to raise; and practical commercial observations — all document-based decision-support to inform your own commercial decisions.

How do I check a BOQ against the drawings?
A BOQ Review reads the bill for internal clarity and commercial risk. Where you need the quantities themselves tested against the drawings, that is the separate BOQ Quantity Supportability Review — an independent drawing-to-BOQ measurement and evidence-lineage check.
Is this a certified or guaranteed quantity check?
No. RFQS provides document-based decision-support, not certification, cost sign-off, or legal or engineering advice. Findings support your own commercial decisions and your appointed professionals.
What documents do you need?
The BOQ itself, and any supporting documents you can share — specification, scope notes, drawings or clarification records. Missing evidence is recorded as a limitation, never treated as zero.
How fast is it?
Fixed scope, fixed fee, confirmed in writing before engagement. Turnaround is agreed with the scope.
Not sure if this fits?
Send your BOQ and any supporting documents. You can request the Fit-Check without booking a call or making a commitment. You decide whether to engage.
RFQS outputs are document-based decision-support, not certification. The client remains solely responsible for final project decisions. Reliance is limited to the documents provided at the time of review. RFQS does not warrant completeness of third-party documents, contractor performance, claim entitlement, dispute outcome, or final project cost.
